Sign of the Times

With the world in uncertain times, Barney’s New York offered shoppers solace, with their spectacular holiday window filled with fashion inspired by the peace sign.

To celebrate the peace sign’s 50th anniversary, Barney’s enlisted the help of prominant designers: Alexander Wang, Diane Von Furstenberg, Proenza Schouler and Narciso Rodriguez among others, to fill the iconic displays with a different sort of holiday cheer.

Messages like, “If everyone demanded Peace instead of another television set, then there’d be peace.” by John Lennon along with the history of the peace sign, called for an equal amount of attention with the designer clothes.

Here’s a look at some of the eye candy.

Alas, viewing this collection online is as close as this writer will get to such high priced fashions.  Unless, I win the Barney’s $2,500 “Peace + Love” Sweepstakes.
