This Spring you will be seeing spots…polka dots that is. Last Fall dots could be found in collections ranging from Givenchy to Lacoste and everywhere in between. Here are a few examples from the Spring 2008 shows. (click on images for the image source and full collections)
Givenchy
Carolina Herrera
Lacoste
Karen Walker
Luca Luca
Now that we have seen what came down the runway, here are a few choices from retailers. (click on images for shopping information)
But here are a few words of advice (and some of this goes without saying), please only where one spotted item, maybe two at a time. Otherwise Polka Dot Princess, you will begin to look a little silly. Finally, when wearing black and white dots, add a punch of color to your look. Infuse a little of the bright shades that are so popular this Spring.

I have mixed feelings about polka dots. All the fashions looked amazing on the runway (except for the gladiator sandels…I’m quite convinced that I don’t like those) but the fabrics available to us normal folks don’t seem to match the runway elegance.
I still plan on getting a polke dot headband or maybe a neck scarf to tie on my bag but I’m not sure I could pull off full on polka dot fever without looking silly.

Hi Guys, thanks for weighing in.
Fluvial, I understand your apprehension. There is a fine line between being fashionable and resembling Minnie Mouse.
If you are interested in participating in this trend, find something small like the hair pins or a pair of earrings or even a belt. You seem to have a really fun personality and I can see a polka dot piece expressing that sense of mischief in you.

This is a smart blog that fills a sizable void in the knowledge base of much of the populace. As I fellow fan of fashion, you might enjoy The Tom Drake Experience (tdexperience.wordpress.com), which explores the power of fashion through fiction.
